When Should I Post This?

As it has been well noted throughout the years, social media has become such a driving force for just about anything from business, news, entertainment, to sales, etc,. Therefore, posting on social media can be a big deal when you are trying to reach your audience or expand on getting your posts shared. Believe it or not, certain times to post are better than others. This blog will hopefully help you with your online presence and getting more engagement from your posts.

Not all platforms of social media will be successful if your content is posted at the same time. In fact, it can cause the opposite, not all users are on those platforms at the same time and even prefer some over others during certain times of the day. Each social media platform you have has more users during particular hours of the day that in turn could enable you to receive more impressions (or the number of times your content is displayed).

Like Instagramfor example, some of the best times to post an image in order to get more impressions would be around lunch time (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM) and after work hours (7:00 - 9:00 PM). Most people at work don't spend much time on Instagram during the day since they are at work and that platform is most commonly used on a mobile device.

For Facebook, however, the best times to post are during the day (Noon to 4:00 PM). This is because most users are able to access and post from their desktops and often go online during their downtime at work. Although, it has been found that Tuesdays are typically the worst day to post.

As for Twitter, posting around lunch time is best as people tend to browse social media on their mobile device during their lunch break. Posting on weekdays is recommended compared to posting on weekends due to less people spending time online.

For LinkedIn, people typically use this social media platform as as way of networking, therefore, they are more likely to check LinkedIn during work hours. Users are also more likely to check their feed during the morning hours of work (9:00 - 11:00 AM).

But as for Pinterest, most people browse throughout the later hours of the day. Since most users (such as moms) are at work most days, they typically use Pinterest from the hours of 8:00 - 11:00 PM when they are relaxing and looking up inspiration.

These social media platforms are the most common that businesses use in order to get more engagement from their audience. While your online presence as a company may vary with the best times for you to post, if you're just starting out I hope these tips help you expand your reach.
